MOVIE

NEW gripping insight on the movie recommended below updated 1/17/2006

---------------------------------------

I got the opportunity to see this movie a few weeks ago in a preview setting. Very well done! It's being released in a few weeks. It's based off of the Jim Elliot & Nate Saint story in 1955 in Ecuador. What a story of redemption!    -Michelle White, CMC Children's Pastor (Michelle's e-mail follows.)

[Above] is an e-card regarding the new movie being released, "End of the Spear."  The movie is very well done and I highly recommend it. It does a great job of following the true story.  For those of you that live in the Poulsbo area, it's supposed to come to our Poulsbo Theater.

I don't generally go around giving my recommendations of movies, etc., but since this is based off of a true story that I have heard many times as I grew up...I wanted to pass this info along.  Ecuador has a special place in my heart.  And what a wonderful re-hearing of this account of a tribal people who desperately needed to be set free from the darkness they were living in! (And they would be the first to admit that they were living in darkness.  This is not a story of "white men" taking over and "making" people Christians...this is a story of redemption...for a group of people that needed to be redeemed, yet didn't know how to end the cycle of violence and destruction in their lives.  AND this is the story of those who were willing to risk their lives in order to offer the truth that was needed in order for them to be saved).

I hope you'll take this opportunity to not just watch this movie, but to discuss it with your friends and family.  And to talk about what is truly important in life.  Every human being (regardless of their tribe) needs to be rescued from the curse of sin. And there is only One Person (Jesus) who can break it.  What part will we play in this story of life that each of us is a part of?

I sincerely hope we all choose to be risk takers for the things that matter most.

Sincerely,

Michelle
